16-07-2009: GridSystems' CEO gives keynote at the INES General Assembly

INES (Spanish Technology Platform on Software and Services) seeks to improve the collaboration between private companies, universities, and technology centers while investigating, evaluating, and integrating future and emergent in order to increase the competitiveness of the TIC Spanish Industry and position it among the European leaders in software and services. GridSystems is a proud member of this community.

GridSystems' CEO, Joan Massó, was the invited keynote speaker in the 4th General Assembly, held last 8, 9 and 10 July in Málaga (Spain). During the sessions of the first day, dedicated to the "Future of Software and Services in Europe", Prof. Massó presented the opportunities and trends in the realms of Grid, Cloud Computing, and Software as a Service. His talk, "Stormy Weather", reviews the basic motivations, principles and key drivers behind the Cloud, lists the main players in the field, with special emphasis on how the Grid and Cloud actors are converging to create new and revolutionary opportunities for innovation and new businesses. The talk received an enthusiastic reaction form attendees who were keen on learning more about the cloudy shape of things to come and the road ahead.
